Even though it was Sunday, it was just another school day in the life of Big Sis and Little Sis. They just LOVE to play school and this certainly wasn’t the first time. Neither was this time playing school. Per usual, Big Sis was the teacher and Little Sis was the student. Little Sis had a FULL morning ahead of her! Just look at the jam-packed schedule her teacher had laid out for her – whew!
As always, they packed a school bag complete with a folder and snacks. Off she went, as Little Sis took a roller coaster ride to school. Once again, I received the title of “The Cafeteria Lunch Lady”. Consequently, I had to get busy if was going to serve all those hungry kids and teachers a school cafeteria lunch at home today!
I was informed that lunch was to be served precisely at 12:21 pm. Turns out I was right on schedule but the teacher had to make a pit stop which delayed lunch until 12:26 pm.
In this School Cafeteria Lunch at home (from left to right):
- Our CSA Papa Spud’s organic carrots served w/ ranch dressing
- Organic Popcorn
- Stacey’s Multigrain Pita Chips served with Sabra Classic Hummus
- Sweet Cantaloupe
- Pinwheel Wraps made with Applegate’s Roast Beef, Turkey and American Cheese and Trader Joe’s Meunster Cheese
- Horizon Organic 2% Milk
- Peanut-free cupcakes
*and check out that lunch bell! I even have a post about that: Never understimate the powers of a good ol’ fashioned dinner bell
Upon seeing their cafeteria selection, Little Sis so sweetly and excitedly declared, “This is better than any cafeteria ever! This is a an AWESOME-ateria!” Hee hee. Doesn’t get much better than that, people! But I’m thinkin’ it was the site of those mini, peanut-free cupcakes. And THIS time, even Daddy got to join in. Funny thing is he was just as excited about lunch as those girls were!
After lunch, followed “Free Play” according to the white board, which is where they remained for the rest of the day. It was a blissful Sunday hearing them play like they did – ALL DAY! Gotta enjoy every moment.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Feel free to make my day by leaving me a comment, following my blog via email, on Facebook or on Instagram. The more the merrier!
