Happy 1st Blogiversary To Me

Exactly one year ago today, I wrote my very first blog post “Hello world“. It was just a couple months after sending my youngest (Little Sis) off to school with her Big Sis. I had all these grand plans. Workout, cook, organize my home, craft, you name it, in my first year of daytime freedom. I actually had a great start. The first few days were spent cooking to stock up fridge, freezer and pantry with all sorts of goodies. Then I tackled the daunting project of organizing my kitchen drawers whicg was a success! And that was just in the first week! Man, I was on a roll!

But then, I started to spend more time messing around with the Facebook page I had started the year before. It was a way to not lose all my Facebook friends because, yes, I was one of those annoying food picture posters! Although I got lots of likes and sweet comments, I couldn’t help but feel a little guilty with each food pic posted and thus, My Epicurean Adventures was born.

It wasn’t too long after that I was befriended by the amazing Kelly Lester of Easylunchboxes (and theater) fame after she saw some of my lunches packed in her ELBs. In case you haven’t noticed, I LOVE my ELBs! She then introduced me to the world of Bento Bloggers and Friends and then I was hooked! I saw all my newly found extra time go flying out the window!

They inspired me to start a blog of my very own, something I had wanted to do for sometime but had no real plans to ever start. And guess what? I immediately fell in love with it. It’s been an incredibly fun year of making new friends, learning about the world of blogging, cooking, writing, taking pictures and having a blast. For that I am truly grateful to Kelly and this amazing group of BBFs, who have supported me every step of the way. Thank you and love you guys!

But just as important to is YOU! You are wonderful sweet readers who stop by to check out my posts, pin, comment, share and like. You leave me in awe every with every single click of your keyboard/mouse because I still find it hard to believe that anyone even reads this blog! Without your support, I never could’ve reached 150+ posts, 800 Facebook page likes, 19K+ views last month (wowzers, I know that’s gotta be a fluke!) and 87K+ pageviews since I started this fun adventure. Without you, I couldn’t have won Cooking Light’s Great American Healthy Lunch Box Challenge which coincidentally appears in this month’s issue! So thank you guys for all the support!

And I can’t forget to thank my hubby, aka Sweetie, for providing me the ability to stay at home with our girls, eat bon bons and blog all day while he and the girls are off at work/school slaving away. Thank you for supporting me in everything I do and dream to do. Thank you for not getting mad and instead helping with the dishes and laundry when I didn’t quite get to it or genuinely saying “That’s really awesome, Sweetie” when I excitedly share with you my little accomplishments along the way and understanding how much I enjoy doing this and allowing me the time to do this (even though I make no money -haha). So thank you, Sweetie! I love you!

And of course I have to thank my girls. They help test out my recipes and are mostly willing to pose for a picture (or four). I love my little sweeties.

Who would’ve guessed I’d be doing this at this point in my life, but here I am now, gone from hardware engineer to stay-at-home mom blogger and you know what? I couldn’t be happier. I am truly a lucky happyvballgirl and I have a lot to be grateful for.

Happy Blogiversary to me! Now please excuse me! I must go mow the lawn so I can say that I at least got SOMETHING done today!
