Well, here’s a look at our last Volunteering at School Lunches. The last week of volunteering in Little Sis’ 1st grade class came and went last week and it was bittersweet. The day before, I received this beautiful dish towel the ever-so-talented teacher Mrs. Z MADE for me and some absolutely heart melting letters the lunch bunch crew wrote me. Got me all teary eyed just reading them!
I hung the dish towel up as soon as I opened it. Doesn’t it look nice?
But the thanks are really mine to give, for letting me play my small part in the school lives of this sweet crew of kids who always put a smile on my face and to the amazing teacher who tirelessly (and effortlessly) taught this group with the perfect mixture of sweet and stern. The work she did with their reading and writing this year, among so many things, has just been amazing. So thank YOU, Mrs. Z! You almost make me want to have another kid to send through your classroom! Here’s a little something I got her, as a token of MY gratitude. Did you expect anything less?
In this set (see end of this post for links):
- Easylunchboxes Lunch Box
- Easylunchboxes Mini Dipper
- Allthingsforsale Heart Silicone Cupcake Mold
- Allthingsforsale Skewer
- 2 cloth napkins made my me
- Wal-Mart gift card
Ok. Time to move on to lunches! Here are the lunches I made the girls.
Big Sis wanted to buy lunch that day so here’s her snack. Don’t you just love my background? Little did the teacher know I’d be using it for this purpose.
I’ll add the deets when I get on my desktop because we are on our way up to MD for the 4th and I can’t bear to type more than I need to on my phone despite its gigantic screen. I just really suck at texting! Well, shucks I guess I could have typed it all up by now, huh?
In this snack:
- Horizon Cheese Crackers
- Organic Carrot Sticks with Simply Dressed Ranch Dressing
- Cheese stick cut up
- Peeled Snacks Apple Clusters
ANYWAY, Little Sis wanted to bring hers and this is what she requested – sandwiches on sticks, again! This time they got their own LunchBots Unos to fit more in.
In this Volunteering at School Lunches lunch:
- Sandwiches on sticks made using Trader Joe’s Organic White Bread and Applegate Ham, American cheese and Genoa salami
- Horizon Cheese Crackers
- Organic Carrot Sticks
- Cheese stick cut up
- Organic Strawberries
And finally, here’s my lunch. I don’t usually put dressing on my salads but for whatever reason I did and man, was it delicious! I also gave myself a tasty little treat. Why not? 🙂
I enjoyed eating it while chatting it up with Big Sis and her soon -to-be 5th griade self and friends. Sniff, sniff. So big, so fast.
In this Volunteering at School Lunches lunch:
- Spinach salad with a lot of stuff and honey mustard dressing in it.
- Blackberries
- Caramel Pretzel Bar
We have this week off and just had meet the teacher night tonight in anticipation of the new school year which starts next week for the majority of us in year round schools, so stay tuned for more lunch packing fun!
