Busy is a relative term and I know there are so many of you out there with far busier lives than mine. But life in our household has been non-stop on-the-go over the past couple months. It’s been a good busy, though, so I’m not complaining, but still busy nevertheless. It’s been a while since I posted anything and I even missed my 2nd blogiversary on September 6 which I did nothing for. I didn’t even realize it until last week! So that’s why today’s lunch is just a sandwich with animal crackers. BUT, even those can be made not too bad!
Between Big Sis’ 4 soccer practices and Little Sis’ 3, piano lessons for both girls during the school week, soccer games on Saturdays and Sundays, some far, some near, volleyball and tennis fun of my own as well as visits from friends and family and fun travels to beaches, amusement parks, family and friends’ and other stuff I can’t remember, I don’t know if I’m coming or going or what month it even is, haha, which is why Big Sis was the only one out of 40+ kids to show up at soccer practice in her orange practice T instead of her white one at the beginning of this one. Whoopsie! Why even change shirt colors monthly, I ask!?
I feel like my lunches have been reflecting life. Not much time for variety and just thrown together, like today’s lunch. Another sandwich. Luckily, it’s what Little Sis requested today and was easy to throw together. At least the treat is a new one for the girls! But with a couple of picks and silicone cups, it actually doesn’t look half bad and it was made in about 7 mins flat!
In this lunch:
- Applegate roasted turkey, Genoa salami and muenster cheese on Nature’s Own 100% whole wheat bread
- Parmesan Goldfish Crackers
- Strawberries, cut up
- Carrot sticks
- Organic Animal Crackers (from Kroger’s organic food section) and Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Chips
- Stonyfield Strawberry Yokids Squeezers
I think I’ll have a little time this weekend between sleepovers and soccer games to sit down with my new favorite cookbook The Best Homemade Kids’ Lunches on the Planet and hammer out some yummy lunches for the upcoming week. Laura of MOMables makes it easy to plan things out ahead of time, so stay tuned for some more interesting lunches next week (hopefully)!!
