It’s official! Big Sis is now a HIGH SCHOOLER as of 2.5 weeks ago! I don’t know where the time went, but it went. She’d been SO done with middle school (as were the rest of us in the same household!) and SO ready to move on to high school. I’m still packing her lunches, because, well, I just don’t mind and have the time. So, here’s her First Day of High School Lunch, I think. 😉 It’s honestly been a blur because we are waking up at 5:45am now and I have always been a night owl. My life has changed just like that and I’m getting up before the sun does, which isn’t actually such a horrible thing, now that I think about it.
In this lunch:
- Cheese and cracker lunchables with Toasteds crackers, ham and cheese cut into circles and pepperoni
- Apple + Mango Fruit Bar from Trader Joe’s
- Peanut butter crackers (she can eat peanut butter, but not tree nuts)
- Go Go Squeeze Apple Sauce
- Popcorn (Hubby found this awesome organic popcorn online)
Mandatory 1st day of school pictures taken after school because an Altoid was sticking out of her mouth in the morning picture:
She had an awesome first day of high school and gobbled up her first day of high school lunch. Woo hoo! She was pretty happy with her classes, teachers and already had made some friends. Who could ask for a better first day? I certainly couldn’t because I went into her school to drop off her epi pen and renew my volunteer status. As I headed up the stairs to the media center, a few teachers stopped me and asked for my hall pass because they thought I was a student. Ha! Best first day of school ever. 🙂
I’d like to add that Big Sis is a pretty awesome kid (despite our frequent head-buttings, lol) and is growing up so fast. She decided to run cross country for her high school in addition to playing club soccer, which has opened up a whole new world to her. Big Sis met kids from all grades in her school over the summer. She was set on her first day! She goes to practices without complaint, gets all of her school work done and is already kickin’ butt in her classes. Over the summer, she completed drivers’ ed – eek! – and will be behind the wheel in no time.
I embrace each and every moment because I’ve been told it just flies by from here. I’m more excited than sad, though, to see her starting to spread her wings. It helps that she still lets me give her hugs and lots of cheek kisses.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Feel free to make my day by leaving me a comment, following my blog via email, on Facebook or on Instagram. The more the merrier!
